After a few days in Santa Cruz, Kate and Jennifer headed north. With temperatures inland in the triple digits, they decided to take a meandering drive up the Northern California coast.

They stopped off in Mill Valley for a quick visit with old friends Sherry and David and their 12-year-old twins, Onwyn and Thatcher. Sherry and Kate have known each other since they were seven. It was a short stopover, but Sherry and David served a delicious al fresco brunch on their deck.
