Home50 Ways to Celebrate

Celebrating My Sister

  previousnext
As young sisters, Beth and Jenni spent lots of time creating characters. Some favorites were Mrs. Peabody and Margaret, who had wild tea parties together. As young adults, both pursued their own separate interests in acting and theatre. As "mature" adults, they have begun rediscovering that old fun with some improvisational stuff. Beth even took a few classes in improv this year, performing with a professional improv group.

Beth is known for goading her sister into silliness. Last fall, she got her to videotape an improv talk show. For her birthday, Beth wanted to at least give a nod to their history of theatrical fun together by performing a little improv skit.

The situation: two elderly women sewing a wedding dress for their granddaughter and discussing their concerns about the wedding.

The results: Less-than-professional hysteria.
