Oregon Country Fair

This year marked the 40th anniversary of the annual Oregon Country Fair outside Eugene. Started in 1969 as a Renaissance Fair to raise funds for an alternative school, the fair has transformed into a huge alternative festival that celebrates creativity, open expression, whimsical fun, and spirituality. It includes 12 stages with ongoing music, comedy, and performances and 700 artisan booths, 50 food vendors. Set in the beautiful wooded countryside, the Country Fair offers a magical setting and a joyous atmosphere. More than 47,000 people attended this year, in spite of an hours-long thunderstorm on Sunday.
