New York, New York

The Transit Museum

Cartoon by Al HirschfeldJust a couple of blocks from where we were staying in Brooklyn Heights is a bargain of a fun museum. Five bucks gets you into the Transit Museum, where you can study the building of New York bridges and the underground subway system.

My favorite room was filled with old movie posters and focused on how the subway has been shown in movies over the years.

Kids will love getting behind the wheel of a city bus. And the best part is the old subway station in the basement, where you can explore old subway and rail cars.

This museum was far from crowded and had a great gift shop full of affordable subway trinkets. Well worth it!
